New Ad Highlights DePerno’s Opposition to Common-Sense Gun Safety Laws and Comes as Part of Seven-Figure Effort in Michigan

LANSING — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund released a new digital ad highlighting Michigan Attorney General candidate Matthew DePerno’s opposition to the common-sense gun safety laws that keep families and communities safe. The $500,000 digital ad campaign will run on digital platforms across Michigan as part of Everytown’s $2.3 million paid media effort in the state.

“Michigan voters have made it clear they’re looking for candidates who will fight for common-sense gun safety laws and stand up for public safety,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “Everytown will make sure Michigan voters know that when extremists like Matt DePerno oppose gun violence prevention laws, they put our families, communities and law enforcement in danger.”

Earlier this week, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund released new advertisements that highlight how gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixons agenda puts us all at risk. As part of that announcement, Everytown also released new polling in Michigan showing that the vast majority of voters support common-sense gun safety laws, including 93% support for background checks on all gun sales. Home — the one place we should feel safe

But for too many women it’s the last place they want to be

Because when an abuser’s armed, women are five times more likely to be killed

And Matt DePerno would make it easier for domestic abusers to get guns, even opposing background checks on gun sales

That’s why 9-1-1 calls for domestic violence are among the most dangerous for women and for police

Matt DePerno won’t keep us safe
