West Virginia
West Virginia has failed to enact many important gun violence prevention policies, and ongoing efforts to force guns into sensitive places like college campuses would further weaken the state's gun laws.
State law makes it easy for prohibited purchasers to access firearms without a background check, allows people to carry hidden, loaded guns in public without a permit, and doesn’t provide a way to prevent firearm access by people in crisis. To become a safer state, West Virginia must close these dangerous gaps in state law and take other common-sense steps to prevent gun violence in its communities.
