Massachusetts
Massachusetts has some of the strongest gun laws in the nation. From comprehensive background checks on all gun sales to disarming domestic abusers to an Extreme Risk law, the Commonwealth has taken numerous steps to prevent gun violence.
Massachusetts closely regulates the concealed carry of firearms and prohibits assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. The Commonwealth also ensures all handguns sold in the state comply with rigorous safety standards through its handgun roster. To become a safer state, Massachusetts should continue to robustly implement and enforce its laws and focus on combating the everyday violence that occurs in its cities.
