Kansas
Kansas has some of the weakest gun laws in the country. Kansas has no law requiring background checks on unlicensed gun sales. State law also allows people to carry hidden, loaded handguns in public without a permit. Kansas’ laws keeping guns away from domestic abusers are incomplete.
To become a safer state, Kansas can enact a law requiring background checks on all gun sales, repeal its dangerous permitless carry law, strengthen its laws keeping guns away from domestic abusers, and enact an Extreme Risk law.
