New Ads Launching As Part of Six-Figure Effort to Elect Gun Sense Champions to Miami-Dade, FL and Cobb County, GA School Boards

WASHINGTON — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund Florida announced a six-figure paid media campaign in two of the nation’s most critical and competitive school board chambers: Miami-Dade County in Florida and Cobb County in Georgia. Digital ads targeting English and Spanish-speaking mobilization and persuasion audiences will highlight candidates’ commitment to keeping our schools and communities safe. These efforts build on Everytown’s 2023 school board elections program, which saw nearly three dozen Moms Demand Action volunteers elected to school board seats across the country. The candidates — Max Tuchman in Miami-Dade and Andrew Cole and Laura Judge in Cobb County — are Moms Demand Action volunteers.

“With gun violence the leading cause of death for children and teens in the United States, it’s never been more critical to elect gun sense champions to school boards. As Everytown’s joint poll with the National PTA showed, parents are more worried about their child experiencing gun violence at school than their child falling behind academically,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “After successfully electing nearly three dozen of our volunteers to school boards in 2023, we’re all in to help several more volunteers secure victory in some of the biggest school board races this cycle.”
