CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Wyoming chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, part of Everytown for Gun Safety, today criticized lawmakers in the House for voting in favor of three different pieces of legislation that would force concealed guns onto college campuses, allow concealed guns in schools and allow concealed guns at government meetings.
More information on the bills being discussed below:
STATEMENT FROM AUDETTE FULLBRIGHT, A VOLUNTEER WITH THE WYOMING CHAPTER OF MOMS DEMAND ACTION FOR GUN SENSE IN AMERICA:
“Today, our lawmakers in the House passed multiple dangerous gun bills that would put guns in some of our most sensitive places, including our state’s educational system. Last I checked, our children go to school to learn math and science – not how to duck and cover from gunfire. Wyoming has a long history of responsible gun ownership, but these bills fly in the face of common sense and would put our families at risk. In fact, those who matter most – police chiefs, university presidents, students, faculty and parents – have opposed forcing colleges to allow guns on campus and allowing guns into K-12 schools. I urge our lawmakers to reject all three dangerous gun bills – the safety of our families and community is on the line.”
