NEW YORK — Everytown for Gun Safety and its grassroots networks, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, released the following statements as Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) announced her intention to step down as Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
“Time and time again, Senator Feinstein has proven herself to be a staunch supporter of the gun safety movement,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “We have been proud to work with her as the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Ranking Member, and we look forward to fighting by her side to advance common-sense gun laws.”
“Before gun safety was a kitchen table issue, Senator Feinstein stood up for common-sense measures that would make our communities safer,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. “The country and the gun safety movement are stronger as a result of leaders like Senator Feinstein.”
