Everytown for Gun Safety Applauds Federal Appeals Court for Rejecting Gun Lobby Challenge to New Jersey Prohibition on High-Capacity Magazines

12.6.2018

NEW YORK – Everytown for Gun Safety, the country’s largest gun violence prevention organization, applauded today’s opinion from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in ANJRPC v. Grewal, a case challenging New Jersey’s prohibition on large-capacity magazines.

Everytown previously filed an amicus brief in the case, available here, which the Third Circuit panel cited in today’s ruling. Everytown was represented by Lawrence Lustberg and Jessica Hunter at Gibbons P.C.

STATEMENT FROM ERIC TIRSCHWELL, LITIGATION DIRECTOR FOR EVERYTOWN FOR GUN SAFETY:

“Today’s ruling is the latest recognition from the courts that states have broad authority to pass laws designed to protect their citizens without violating the Second Amendment. This is a win for public safety in New Jersey.”
