6.4.2025

NEW YORK – Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced its endorsement of Mayors Against Illegal Guns Co-Chair Mayor Andy Schor for re-election in Lansing, Michigan.

“City leaders like Mayor Schor are on the frontlines of America’s gun violence crisis, and at the forefront of developing common-sense ways to keep their communities safe,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “Everytown is proud to endorse Mayor Schor for re-election, and eager to work with him to save even more lives.”

“Protecting communities from gun violence starts with smart, local leadership, and that’s exactly what Mayor Schor delivers,” said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. “Our Michigan volunteers are ready to help re-elect a mayor who puts survivors first, invests in proven, community-based solutions, and shows up every day to fight for public safety.”

As Mayor, Schor has invested thousands of dollars in the Advance Peace Initiative to mentor youth and prevent gun violence. Mayor Schor also started the Violent Crime Initiative, which has seized hundreds of guns from people who shouldn’t have them. Last month, Mayor Schor joined Governor Whitmer and hundreds of Moms Demand Action volunteers to advocate for stronger gun safety laws in Michigan.
