4.3.2025

NEW YORK – Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced its endorsement of Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) member Mayor Barbara Buffaloe for re-election in Columbia, Missouri.

“City leaders like Mayor Buffaloe are on the frontlines of America’s gun violence crisis, and at the forefront of developing common-sense ways to keep their communities safe,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “Everytown is proud to endorse Mayor Buffaloe for re-election, and eager to work with her to save even more lives.”

“Mayor Buffaloe knows that keeping our communities safe from gun violence comes down to common sense,” said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. “That’s why we’re proud to endorse her for re-election—because Columbia deserves a leader who puts people’s safety ahead of politics.”

Mayor Buffaloe is currently establishing an Office of Violence Prevention and joined other Missouri mayors, including MAIG Co-Chairs Quinton Lucas and Tishaura Jones, to call on Governor Mike Kehoe to prioritize an end to youth violence and bar minors under the age of 18 from possessing guns.
