Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund Announces New Round of Volunteers and Everytown Leaders Endorsements, Backing 54 Candidates Across 24 States

NEW YORK — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced its latest round of endorsements of Moms Demand Action volunteers and Everytown leaders running for office across the country. The 54 candidates endorsed today are running for offices ranging from the U.S. House to state legislatures, county commissions, city councils, school boards, and more across 24 states. In the 2026 primaries thus far, more than 86% of Moms Demand Action volunteers have won their races.
“This November, voters in 24 states have a chance to elect leaders who were fighting to keep their communities safe from gun violence long before their names appeared on a ballot,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “These 54 candidates already know which gun safety laws their states are missing, and which lawmakers have been standing in the way, and Everytown will go all-out to put them in office this November.”
“We’ve long known that the people who spend years at school board meetings and statehouse hearings make the strongest candidates, and 54 more of them are on ballots this fall,” said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. “They are parents, survivors, teachers, and neighbors who decided that asking their leaders to act wasn’t enough. Moms Demand Action volunteers will be organizing for every one of these campaigns from now until Election Day.”

In 2021, Everytown Victory Fund launched the Demand a Seat educational program to train grassroots volunteers and gun violence survivors to take the next step in their advocacy efforts by running for office and working on campaigns. Since then, the program has trained more than 1,700 volunteers across 49 states and Washington, D.C. During the 2025 election cycle, 163 former Moms Demand Action volunteers were up for election, and 67% won in 23 states. They join the ranks of the more than 600 volunteers from 43 states who have run and won since the Demand a Seat program was launched. All told, 15 states now have five or more former volunteers serving in the legislature, and six former volunteers are now serving in Congress.
