WASHINGTON — Today, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and the DAGA People’s Lawyer Project, an independent organization backed by the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA), announced new television ads and spending in the North Carolina Attorney General race. The ads, which are running on broadcast television in the Wilmington media market, highlight Dan Bishop’s allegiance to Mark Robinson’s extreme and dangerous record of trying to ban abortion with no exceptions and opposing common-sense gun safety laws that keep law enforcement and communities safe.
“As the ‘people’s lawyer,’ attorneys general have an essential role to play in keeping people safe from gun violence, whether that means holding bad actors in the gun industry accountable or championing common sense gun safety laws,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “We’re proud to partner with the Democratic Attorneys General Association to ensure voters know that Dan Bishop’s agenda would endanger law enforcement and threaten the safety of North Carolina families.”
“Dan Bishop — who called himself ‘Mark Robinson’s sidekick’ — has a dangerous record of opposing gun safety laws and trying to ban abortion,” said Amanda Trump, Independent Expenditure Director for DAGA. “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund to let North Carolinians know that Bishop won’t keep our families and communities safe.”
Dan Bishop says he’s running for Attorney General because…
BISHOP: “It’s essential to have Mark Robinson with a sidekick.”
Like Robinson, Bishop has spent years trying to ban abortion, with no exceptions for rape or incest.
And like Robinson, Bishop would put doctors behind bars for providing critical care.
No wonder he calls himself Robinson’s “sidekick.”
Bishop’s too dangerous for North Carolina.

And like Robinson, Bishop opposes background checks on gun sales, making it easier for violent criminals to commit gun crimes.

In July, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Victory Fund announced a $45 million electoral program and the launch of a new grassroots voter contact program to help elect gun sense candidates and defeat gun extremists up and down the ballot in key swing districts and states. Everytown’s efforts will focus on young voters on college campuses, voters of color, and suburban women in Arizona, California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Last month, Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced a record $7.5 million investment to train and elect Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers, including many running in key races across the country.
