      Ghost guns aren’t just for hobbyists. Law enforcement agencies are recovering homemade, unserialized firearms from criminals at alarming rates. Everytown has examined more than 100 federal prosecutions involving ghost guns, finding that ghost guns are connected to violent criminal enterprises, gun trafficking rings, and far-right extremists. This sample included nearly 2,500 ghost guns, many of which were assault-style or machine guns. This analysis shows that ghost guns are not only for hobbyists, as some have claimed, but rather they have become a critical part of the criminal market for firearms.
