What do you hope to pursue after you graduate?
Upon graduating, I hope to work for local government in the community development or urban planning sectors. If the opportunity presents itself, I may run for public office. I do eventually plan on getting a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning.
Why is gun violence prevention important to you?
Gun violence prevention is important to me because the work that we do saves lives. No family or community should have to endure losing someone to gun violence, nor should any person have to endure trauma from gun violence. Our work helps prevent that, and that is what keeps me going.
What are you most proud of working on as a Students Demand Action volunteer?
I am most proud of being able to testify alongside fellow students, Moms Demand Action volunteers, and community members to defeat dangerous gun laws in Ohio. I will never forget the time in December of 2018 when we were at the Ohio Statehouse for a hearing against Stand Your Ground, which ended up being pivotal in defeating Stand Your Ground that year.
What public figure or social justice icon do you most admire?
I most admire Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. AOC accomplished the American Dream and is now a warrior for progressive policies.
If you could only eat one food for a year, what would you pick?
What do you do for self care?
I watch football, work out, read, and hang out with friends.
What motivates you to keep going?
Knowing that the work I do saves lives and makes a difference in the community.
