Get to Know the Students Demand Action Advisory Board: Katherine Pisabaj

As a young Latina Chicagoan, I encounter different sides of the city and world every day. Unfortunately, I met with the darkest side when my boyfriend and I were shot at while he was driving me home two years ago. As a result, I was shot and our lives were forever changed. I’ve become motivated to make a difference for today and tomorrow for our generation and the upcoming ones. With the help of my mom, family, boyfriend, and loved ones, I will continue to fight this fight with Students Demand Action while being in the Advisory Board to work with others to help us achieve our goal so that my pain and my loved ones’ pain isn’t shared by more and more people.
