Since our last camp in the summer of 2006 a small dedicated group has guided Everytown through more than a year of listening sessions, focus groups and planning meetings with one goal in mind – to ensure Everytown’s long term growth and sustainability.
We believe we have found our path. By January 2009 Everytown will officially become a program of the YWCA of Greater Milwaukee. We are very pleased to have reached this agreement with an organization that shares Everytown’s core mission of eliminating racism, sexism and other forms of oppression.
During this transitional year, the YWCA will offer organizational support to Everytown and YWCA staff will shadow long time Everytown volunteers in order to learn the ins and outs of the program.
Co-directors, John Fitzgerald, LG Shanklin Flowers and Davita Flowers Shanklin will return to camp this year. They will be joined by advisors, Nicole Carver and Harriet McKinney. Please contact us so that we can add you to the list.
Anyone interested in volunteering must complete a formal application. (See links below.) After all this time we are anxious just to hear your voice or see your name. So please contact us!
